Our firm is partnered with one of our noted clients, a midsized global professional services firm, to appoint their next AVP, HR on a permanent basis. The position can be based either in New York City (midtown east), Westchester County, NY, or Morris County NJ but will split time between local tri-state area offices. A car would be helpful but is not required. Once post covid return to work has occurred, there will be 1-2 days per week flex from home time.
This role is ideal for a classically trained HR Business partner out of sophisticated, matrixed financial or professional services firms with at least 5 years of work as full-fledged business partner and the ability to truly lend strategic contributions to their established HR platform. With a headcount in the 4000 person range, this individual will own a client group just under 300 and will be tasked with talent management, succession planning, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, leadership coaching, and driving strategic initiatives.
Reporting into a dynamic and supportive VP of HR and Global Head of Corporate HR groups, this hire will enjoy significant senior exposure, personal development, and a high degree of visibility. The ideal hire will have room to grow as an experienced strategist but will have enough client partnership and coaching from within their existing toolkit to hit the ground running and remain engaged in the role for the foreseeable future. A very supportive, collegial, and close knit team, this AVP HR Business Partner will enjoy autonomy, support, and the ability to help move the needle through measured change and strategic undertakings, while maintaining close client partnerships for visible impact.
