I am currently partnering with an investment manager who are looking to recruit a Head of Training & Competence where you will be responsible for the complete ownership and management of their Training and Competence/SMCR schemes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Within this role you will have two direct reports and you will report directly into the Chief of Staff for their Investment Management function. You will lead the effective management of the T&C programme; in particular, ensuring new recruits and supervisors are aware of the responsibilities and requirements.
You will input relevant information to the FCA systems to ensure appropriate permissions and incident reporting in conjunction with the HR and Compliance departments. You will also be expected to keep up to date with appropriate regulation and provide expert advice and guidance to senior management. You will also work with the HR Systems Analyst to ensure that the Insight system delivers appropriate T&C functionality.
To be considered for this role you will need an in depth technical knowledge of current T&C regulatory requirements / SMCR (either having implemented SMCR or currently working on an implementation plan) as well as the ability to lead and drive the T&C process using a pragmatic business focused approach with a strong focus on managing risk.
