Our client, a private equity-backed global ed-tech company based in Austin, is looking to hire a Vice President of Human Resources. This role will support 400 employees globally with 3 US-based locations and 1 India-based location, with half of the employees being based in the US and the other half based in India. The role may report to the CFO or CEO, but in either case, will work closely with both of them, as well as the entire executive suite. This is a replacement for a long-standing incumbent who is leaving on very positive terms for a growth opportunity outside the company. In rehiring for this role, our client is upgrading the position to a VP title and is looking for someone who can both execute tactically while providing a strategic lift to the function, and serving as a trusted confidante to the executive leadership team.
This role will manage a team of 11 resources (3 in the US, all of whom are based in Austin, and 8 in India, who report up through a Director of HR). Prior team management experience is critical for success, as is global experience. The business will grow through mergers and acquisitions, and our client is seeking an HR leader with prior M&A experience, particularly due diligence and post-merger integration. Hands-on experience across all areas of HR (benefits, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent management) so as to be able to run a compliant, scalable HR function. Most critically, our client is seeking an HR leader who also has a strategic view towards HR, and who can weigh in on all executive decisions with a focus on culture, retention, talent development, and automation. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a mix of experience gained in large and small companies. Start-up and hi-growth experience is a +++. A great, outgoing personality and collaborative working style would be an asset as well.
Our client is ideally looking for a candidate who can work onsite on a hybrid basis. They are offering a competitive compensation package inclusive of base, bonus, and equity.
